CTZ
(Cetirizine Dihydrochloride)

 

DRUG OF CHOICE FOR:

• Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
• Perennial allergic rhinitis
• Chronic idopathic rhinitis
• Atopic dermatitis
• Conjunctivitis
• Pruritus
• Allergen induced asthma 

DOSAGE:

• Cetirizine dihydrochloride (CTZ) is administered with or without food. The time of administration varies to suit individual patient needs.
• Adults & children over 6 years : 10mg daily or 5mg twice daily
• Children 2-6 years : 10mg daily or 5mg twice daily.
• Children under 2 years are not recommended

 

 

KETOTIF TAB / SYRUP
(Ketotifen Fumarate)

It is a potent antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer. It has also eosinophil inhibitor activity and has been used in the prophylactic treatment of asthma and symptomatic relief of allergy.

DRUG OF CHOICE FOR:

• Asthma
• Allergy
• Patient With Infection
• Acid aspiration

DOSAGE:

Adult: The usual dose is 1 mg twice daily with food; if necessary dose should be increased to 2 mg twice daily. Initial treatment in readily sedated patients is 0.5 – 1.0 mg at night.

Child: under 2 years, it is not recommended;

Child over 2 years 1 mg is recommended twice daily with food.

SARINEX
(Desloratadine)

It is indicated for the relief of nasal and non-nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic conditions including rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.

It is also indicated for the symptomatic relief of pruritus, reduction in the number of hives, size of hives

DRUG OF CHOICE FOR:

• Urticaria
• Rhinitis

DOSAGE:

As there are no food effects on the bioavailability, Sarinex may be taken without regard to meal.
Adults and adolescent of 12 years or over: 5 mg once daily.
Child 6-11 years: 2.5 mg (5 ml Sarinex syrup) once daily.
Child 1-5 years: 1.25 mg (2.5 ml Sarinex syrup) once daily.
